Climate

Luxembourg has low mountains, hills and forests to the North.  This region is called the Oesling.  There are many villages that dot the hillsides.  The forests in the Oesling are very dense, and the hills and mountains to the North have snow throughout most of the winter.  The southern region is called the Gutland, or good land, it has woods, vineyards and farmland.  The gutland has more cities and a larger population than the Oesling.  It rains almost every three days in Luxembourg, making it a very green country.

What to Pack

Because it rains so much in Luxembourg, it is essential that you bring a rain jacket.  If you plan on hiking the mountains or visiting during fall or winter, you should bring a warm jacket, hat, gloves and boots, because Luxembourg has a temperate climate,  and it can get quite cold and snowy.
